Some popular companies that will buy your stool sample for money are HumanMicrobes and GoodNature. GoodNature will likely require you to visit one of their centers to provide a sample and will usually pay between $25-$75 per sample. HumanMicrobes, on the other hand, pays $500 per sample. Imagine if you provided them a poop sample everyday- you’d make $180,000 a year!
Something even better about this gig is that you don’t need any tools or supplies to get started- and you should be doing it every day anyway! Why not get paid for it?
Step one: Apply to both of the companies. With both of them, this will be the first thing you have to do. You will fill out a questionnaire or survey that asks you questions such as your height, weight, and bowel movements. You will be contacted by the chosen organization if they think your application is a good fit for the company.
Step two: You will then see if you qualify for their research by completing health screenings. A medical screening may be completed regularly for some companies, such as GoodNature requiring every two to six weeks.
Step three: If you’ve gotten this far, it’s time to submit your sample! Depending on which company you’re selected for is how you will give your sample. HumanMicrobes will require you to place your stool sample directly in a ziploc bag and send it over dry ice. GoodNature, on the other hand, you will need to visit a center to give the sample in person.
